Wow. At least I'm not alone in buying a "great" scanner I can't figure out how to use. I'm an engineer, but a CIVIL engineer, not an electrical. LOL. I did alot of research before I bought this thing and knew it would include a steep learning curve. Boy am I overwhelmed. I am using FreeScan and have downloaded the trunk System for my local listening pleasure in Phoenix. I deleted the systems that came pre-loaded on this scanner and have only two now; the most important being Regional Wireless Cooperative from the AZ, Maricopa County, list from RadioReference import window with FreeScan.
My actual goal for a first accomplishment was to be able to listen to the local Phoenix police department dispatch, fire, etc. I can listen to it online at Broadcastify, Phoenix Police Live Audio Feed. But for the life of me I can't get this thing to pick up this same broadcast. It will pick up random calls, but it's sketchy, I can't hear the whole thread, and it's hit or miss, nothing that would be close to me, and seemingly easier to capture.
I'm pretty ignorant, but learning quickly and willing to do the work, but I desperately need someone that can be my magi.
