• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I am looking for a long beep or a tone to come across the fire department speakers when we get toned out. We use 2 tone with dtmf for siren activation. I do have a couple Minitor IV's/ Minitor V's and chargers. No amp chargers. I do have a base radio hooked up using speaker wire to 3 speakers with volume control in each room. this works good.
I figured out a way to use a Minitor IV charger with a 3/32" plugged into the external speaker plug to a speaker. But it only does the "beep, beep, beep" would like the pager to activate a long tone over the speakers. I know I will need parts that include a relay but this is where I get lost or start seeing parts for a lot of money.
I have been searching on the internet for a while on this topic and found a couple things. First I want to build or make this for under $25, second I have found the systems on ebay, and no Im not going to spend over $25. WIth that out of the way. I hope someone has some insight. Thanks

Thanks, but now my problems are how to hook it up. The 3/32" external plug is on the bottom. I might be able to drill a hole in the charger to access it. Will let you know what I come up with.

You are correct, there is an amp/charger with a DIN on the back but, that costs more than I want to spend.
I have now made one of the old Minitor III chargers into what I think is what I am looking for. I have added another pin to the bottom " the one that is labeled alert out" which I think is the low voltage activation. I will be checking it tonight at the night test. If it does work, then I will wire a relay that trips with the low voltage. That relay will be connected to ie. bell, or buzzer. Hopefully this works as I am not an electric engineer, just a radio guy. Any input would be great. Thanks again.
