Anyone know what the CSP dispatchers mean when they say "5A11 in the blind, listing shows clear valid, insured...."?

I know what all that means except for the "in the blind" part.

Means they are out of there car or away from the radio so the dispatcher is just airing and they are not expected to respond.

Many years ago when CSP was on VHF the trooper would switch the radio audio through the P.A. when they were out of the car typically during a traffic stop to hear the dispatcher. My understanding is most troopers had no portable radios prior to moving to DTR in the early 2000's.

That is a fact, and if you were lucky enough to have one, it was basically a listening device...you were lucky if you could get out on it
