I see we have a lot of avid scanner buffs out here. I just wanted to pass along some info that I have. I have a dispatcher account on Incidentpage.net. It's a one way paging service that's nationwide. We are in serious need of Colorado dispatchers. In the 6 mos or so I've been involved, I believe there are just 2 of us that are really active and only 2 or so that are occasional dispatchers. Any dispatch help would be appreciated and with the rewards program the service offers, the more pages you send out, the more points you get for rewards. Dispatcher accounts are free, just go to the website and sign up and wait for your approval. I'm not affiliated in any other way with this site, so I'm not giving a formal endorsement. I just think the network would be a lot stronger with more listeners paging out interesting stuff in the Colorado area.

Well, didn't think I'd get such a coarse response here, sorry if I offended anyone. I come from the Chicago area and know that in compairson, this area is relatively inactive as far as the activity that goes on here. If anyone was interested, it was just an FYI, and the points are just a thank you for providing a service.

So this is a service like MNN, only on a nationwide scale? Am I understanding this correctly? Do you have any additional info, like a web page or something? I guess I just don't understand what exactly IPN is or how it works. Not trying to be "coarse," but I'm just not understanding what you're talking about.

You ended up walking into a room full of MNN supporters which is the dominant notification service in Colorado.
With the intials of all the different notification services flying around I couldn't help but think of a creative startup called BFD.

I'm almost getting afraid to post, due to the fact that I may offend someone, but I see nothing wrong with your offer. I do know that we do have a GREAT incident reporting service here in Colorado. I'm not a member yet because I don't have a scanner that recieves our "statewide" digital system. The person who does our "IPN" in Colorado also does a super job of posting on this website. Thanks for your offer, but I think we are in pretty good shape here in Colorado.

Agreed. I'm sure IPN has its strong points, but I like having a "local" service that caters to those in Colorado. A lot of scannists local to this area contribute and that makes it very useful to those of us who monitor Colorado radio. I think Jim and the others do a great job of notifying the rest of us of things happening in our state. Not sure a nationwide version could accomplish that. Just my $0.02.
You can suscribe to just the Colorado chapter and get notifications just for the Colorado area. The nationwide scale is if you hold an interest in getting pages from other areas of the country as well. I, being from Chicago, get Chiagoland pages in Colorado just to keep up on what my old job does. Yes, we're all buffs here. And, conversely, if you send a local page in Colorado for an incident in Littleton, per say, someone in Chicago that is signed up on the Colorado net as well gets it. I have no idea what MNN is, if there's another local paging service that's out there, cool. This is just the first one that I found that allows me to see local events and what goes on back home. Your account is all user friendly and allows you to format it however you want. As for the "course" comment, "8 pages today, not to bad" true, not too bad, but as a FF working shift, I know a lot more goes on than what is paged. And I don't listen to the cop shop much so maybe someone that holds an interest there can page out the PD activity....just my 2 cents as well.

Less listeners calling in to MNN means less pages for the users, while not bringing IPN up to the level of what MNN is.
