This ham transceiver came out around '95, WARC bands, low power, made in the USA by Index Labs (out of business), SSB/CW and general coverage rcvr (0.1 - 30 MHz). Nice little rig that puts out up to 5 watts. Wondering if anyone is using one or had one in the past? I recently got one of these gems along with all the info on mods, etc. Have no plan to modify it though
I did replace the memory battery that was stone dead and interestingly the S meter, which was not functioning initially, now works. Not sure how the memory battery affects the S meter as there's no documentation attesting to that. Will check the output also with a spec analyzer as there are some reported spurs reported on 12m band.
As per the manual, an electret mic is recommended for phone but not sure whether to build one or buy. Would appreciate any input from those familiar with this excellent little rig, tnx and 73's.
