Does anyone know how the National Park Service has their FCC Licenses listed? I did a FCC Search and only came up with 2 entries in FL. I am trying to find info on this new system.

According to a post on the yahoo board, this will not be SAFE-T.

The majority of all federal agencies are not licensed by the FCC but are assigned frequencies by a federal agency. I think the NTIA is the parent but can't remember what sub-agency it responsible. In any case you won't find them listed on the FCC site. In fact, I don't think you are going to find them listed anywhere on the Internet.

Yep, it's NTIA. At one time that used to be public information too, but was made "confidential" back in the 1980's.

BTW, I used to hear the Indiana Dunes Nat'l Lakeshore on 166.325, with a callsign of KQC 708 HQ was "700", as is usually the case with National Park stuff I've monitored.

Also, In Michigan, I've heard the U. S. Forest Service in the 160 Mhz range and on the state trunked system (MPSCS).

Sleeping Bear Dunes in Northern lower Michigan are also in the 160 Mhz range.

NTIA Frequency Data

NTIA frequency data is not available through a normal website. The sites where such data is found is very high secure government websites. The users on those sites must have a government IP address. Getting on to the sites can't be done through a commercial IP.

Logged KQC708 on 166.275(NAC 100) today - police dispatch repeater output at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. 166.975 is listed as their channel 2 in the Radio Reference database, but I'm wondering if it might be the input for this repeater. Has anyone confirmed the actual input freq?

I've also heard what is reported as their fire department on 166.325(NAC 100). Transmissions appeared to be from their base in simplex mode, mobiles were not heard. RR database lists this as them, both in simplex and repeat (with an input of 166.925).

Only hearing bits and pieces from 17 miles due east of downtown Chicago. Additional information appreciated!

166.325 is the Fire and it is also Digital, but I don't scan that much if ever, usually if I hear something going on. I'm pretty sure 166.925 was separate ch. a while back when they were analog, but I have not actually heard traffic on that ch. yet. I Have also heard them on DNR Parks and Reservoirs North.

They interop with INDNR on SAFE-T, on the P&R North TG, BUT, I would also look for interop on the other new DNR AREA TG's that are more location specific for operations.
