Hello all,

I just purchased a Uniden BCD396XT with the intention of listening to various radio traffic in the Bloomington area, primarily. I work for IU Campus Bus Service. I know that we switched to digital radios (handheld units are Motorola XPR 6550s) about four years ago. Bloomington Transit (the city bus service) is still using analog technologies. I can pick up their traffic just fine, although their channels are labeled as IU Campus Bus on RR. Does anyone know the info on the "real" IU Campus Bus frequencies and/or how to extract this data from one of the handheld radios to which I have access to at work?

Thanks for your help.

If the handheld radios are Motorola XPRs, then my guess is that they may be using MotoTRBO which is Motorola's version of DMR, a digital voice protocol. There are no commercially available scanners which can decode DMR or MotoTRBO.
