If set up right that will be one Hell of a system for them. I wish Duke Energy would go back to there 800mhz repeaters. I liked to listen to them during outages.

Duke is working on it for Hamilton County

Build on going

However Issues for Duke and IPL from what I have heard they will be Digital and normal Scanners can not decode it.

???? a "normal" scanner..... if you mean analog as being normal then no, it won't work for digital. If your meaning a digital scanner then it's a "maybe, maybe not", however I have heard this will be a Smartzone Motorola digital system, in which case it should be fine.

I thought Motorola was not selling Smartzone systems anymore. Am I mistaken? I was under the impression that all new Motorola systems were going to be pure P25 9600 baud systems.

No confusion...... btw, you may want to look a little deeper into whats going on and the capabilities that the new system will have, there are more reasons these two are shareing some towers than meets the eye :)

I'm not sure, but I think theres bad news here. The license is for emission type 8K60D1W. CITE 47CFR2.201. "D=Emission in which the main carrier is amplitude and angle-mudulated either simultaneously or in a pre-established sequence". "1= A single channel containing quantized or digital information without the use of a mudulating sub-carrier". W=A combination of data types. I don't think my scanners are gonna work with that. df

Ok I take that back on the new MECA Lic they have the same but that does not matter if they use it in another form or Encryption

The F3E and the D1W is the Digital part

Ok 855.4125 856.2875 856.4125 is a part of a 9600 P25 system NOT Conventional How ever NO CC found with in the IPL freqs but the analog CC. Never the less these three from time to time show LNK and rotate voice traffic I have searched the 800 band and have NO CC in true P25 but MECA if any one has any info on this please post thanks

Breaking news!!!! IPL is using meca sys 2 cc for there new IPL digital

TG
21012 meter services or service turn on
21014 Service Cut-off
21015 Meter turn On?

852.1125 CC
855.4125
856.2875
856.4125

IPL slowly cutting people over to Digital when more switch more of the IPL freqs will switch as well looks like MECA just added these freqs to the system and IPL solely on just the IPL freqs to weird
