Both the Indy police feeds are usually very poor quality for a majority of transmissions. I always listen late night. Do others have the same problem? I've listened for 40 years. Now I'm outside Atlanta in wuinnett county. Used to be great but now dark.

With the price of scanners nearing $700 with addons of up to $170 for a total of $870 plus tax and shipping and the radio systems becoming more complicated and all the people complaining that have ZERO dollars invested complaining all the time I am unsure why anyone would spend this type of money and put a feed online.

You can try contacting the feed provider. They may not know it sounds bad. When I provided a feed I very rarely listened to it myself so problems would go unnoticed sometimes. However, they may know and haven't had the time, money, or ambition to actually fix it. Running a feed can be a headache. I'm not sure why people actually tie up their radios doing it honestly.

The guy that does the INDY feed for PD is on here all the time, and specifically asks folks to let him know of issues. Most of the time the feed sounds very good. Every now and then when they Tweak the IDPS systems or WX causes a slight change in reception a little of the Simulcast Multipath Distortion will get in, but it is usually very short lived. With IPSC and IDPS and Motorola doing system tweaks on both SAFE-T and IDPS systems some interesting wierdness has shown up on scanners lately. But thre has been very little effect actually on system radios.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I thought that too, that the person providing the service may never actually listen to it because one's scanner would allow for a much better listening experience. Cheers

Thanks for the info. I'm a fairly new listener on the stream and it's been pretty bad for the past months. Some nights are good. There are two indy feeds. Sometimes one is better than the other. But often they both have simultaneous reception difficulties. That has made me think the problem is outside the control of the person providing the feed. I'm not upset in any way with him. I very much appreciate his effort. I want to make that very clear.

I still get folks claiming they can't connect to my feed and it works fine for me. Had RR check and they said it was fine too. Go figure!

You lost MECA years ago. Only thing that is MECA now is the actual radio shop.

I have issues connecting to feeds but that's Firefox being stupid. Sometimes you've got to open the url in a non pop up.

Seems to be a night time phenomenon. Transmission quality sounds fine during the day.

Its your ISP or such. I listen to the feed pretty often to compare it to what my scanner and radio are doing and rarely is there that much of an issue other than having to be used to hearing the feed a little after the actual broadcasts due to the built in internet delay lol.

My isp is comcast/xfinity. The problem is intermittent. When it's bad it can't be followed. Most nights last week were like that. I stream other cities too and most are pretty good. Wish I was local so I could use my scanner to narrow listening to hot calls on just that channel and tac. Some providers do offer an array of channels for their city. I guess that would be even more of a headache. I really appreciate what's offered now.

Sadly I've given up on the Indy late night feed. I'm north of 180 mb/sec but the stream is too broken to follow most nights. So many other good ones on Broadcastify. I'm blind and currently I'm enjoying Denver and Chicago late night. Maybe one day I'll move back and try to provide. Cheers
