Hi I am in Butler County Ohio, i would like to listen to our nearby counties in indiana wondering what sites i need to listen some counties i want to listen to are
There are no SAFE-T sites in Union County. Nearest sites are in Wayne (North Zone site 71), Fayette (North Zone site 38), and Franklin (South Zone site 41). Dearborn County has South Zone sites 36, 42, 43. Wayne County has North Zone sites 31 and 71. Ohio County has South Zone site 37.
You probably don't need to scan all of those sites. Talkgroups for each county will probably appear on sites in adjacent counties.
Funny, I have the opposite “problem”. I’m in Wayne county and would love to listen to Butler. I pick up Darke & Preble no problem. Butler Co, however… no joy.

Butler Co is simulcast. Marcs likely limits their ability to join neighboring sites, and/or because they are simulcast they don't get to geographic areas where a Butler Co unit needs to join a neighboring site.
SAFE-T does that with some sites and TGs. One that I know of is the Warren, IN site. That site does not allow the ISP District 22 Dispatch TG on that site, even though the site is located along I-69 at a former weigh station in D22. That site also houses one of ISP D22's VHF Point-to-Point transmitters, and ISP's microwave system.
Yeah I know. I lived in Preble county for roughly four years. I could pick ‘em no problen there, however they definitely are not joining neighboring sites. Never heard any traffic from Butler on Preble or vice-versa.
Once I get a couple miles out from my home closer to the actual city of Richmond I can get some bars on Butler’s CC’s. I’m thinking even a small outdoor antenna would work wonders. Looking like a good Spring project!
