Just sayin: My UV-K5(8) does nicely from 20 MHz past 500 MHz. I have a VHF, 220, and UHF triband antenna antenna, only radio I have ATM that does 1.2 meters. It hears everything my Bearcat scanner does, almost as well.
CW and sideband on 6, 10 and 15 meters, makes a great QRP rig with a decent antenna.
Air band does very nice from 118 to past 380 MHz. 118 to 138 has TX lockout.
Sound is good, even on FM broadcast, but in a noisy environment headphones come in handy.
Program all the airshow freqs, it will scan them also.
Better quality build than Baofeng and battery life is great.
Awful good for less than $40 (add 3 band antenna and headphones)
Oh, CB band works, just no bragging rights.
Cheers
