Hi All,
I recently hooked up a External Paging adapter to my company's phone and overhead PA system. I took the output of the adapter and terminated it into a 1/4" phone plug. That is plugged into one of the unbalanced mic inputs on the PA amplifier. However, it creates a horrible hissing noise when the volume is turned up to a usable level. I tried substituting the adapter's 12v power supply for another one, but that made the hiss worse. I then tried using a 12v battery instead, but I still get the hissing noise. Is there any kind of filter I can put in to stop the hissing? This is what I have:
-RadioShack MPA-250A PA Amplifier
-TMC Model 800-EFM External Feature Module set up for external paging
We originally (and still do) have a Motorola Minitor 3 amplified charger hooked up to the PA amplifier. This has been working great for years, and does not create any hissing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Chris
