03-101 is the new countywide EVENT 1. I think I heard there were 15 of them coming, they were used operationally for the hospital exercise a week or two ago. 02-101 is just for testing the new Tower 2.

Not sure of the name, but yes, all radios either have those new event channels or will soon...

mattmil13 - as mentioned above they were testing the tower 002. That tower was added to provide better coverage for units operating in that area, it will only have a subset of talkgroups (that's why it has less frequencies.) Don't program it in your scanner.

Highly suggest using the AFS format as it makes things easier to decode on the fly. That is the simulcast that triggers for a dispatch, if you only want to hear them you can lock out the main Meridian FD talkgroup and you'll only hear dispatches.

You can see in the list on the database here, most 02's are police, 03's mutual aid, 04's fire, 05's dispatch, 08's Clinton Co, etc. Not an exact relation, but close.

Many, hit lockout when you hear a toneout of interest on the dispatch channel and if it shows up with a 05- then you have the ticket.

Not offhand, when you hear a dispatch on FIRE MAIN then press LOCKOUT and see if another talkgroup comes up. If so - yes. If not - no. Then unlock FIRE MAIN.

05-105 is a simulcast on Fire Main.

some out-county fire departments use plectrons or whatever you call them, and dispatch uses the patch to activate them.

I dont know why departments dont just buy new UHF plectrons and use fire main's conventional frequency (460.600) for dispatch.
