Ingham Co. EDACS

Testing on new TG today 02-001 unknown what it is used for.

Can your Jaguar radio receive AEGIS or Pro Voice signals? Around me Livonia police use an analog EDACS system, but the surveillance and detectives channels only are using AEGIS voice. That seems kind of risky to me. Correct me if I am wrong, but if I bought a EDACS radio capable of AEGIS and programmed the freq's in I would be able to hear the detectives channel? I do however know that technique to listen in won't work on M/A-Com Open Sky though, something to do with the radio needing an I.P address to access the radio network. Oakland County was supposed to be up and running on Open Sky back in 2004 or earlier and only a select few cities are using it now (July 2008).

I'm not sure if detectives are digital or encrypted... I know some are definitely encrypted, but once it gets digital most of us don't care I'm not sure you can just program an EDACS radio for trunk tracking in the first place?

Just amazing------Toledo. I can't answer Fire Center when responding to Waterloo Twp. south of Stockbridge in southern Ingham/northern Jackson county. Just amazing............... 1002, Ass't Fire chief, Stockbridge.

I think the transmit tower is a little higher up, and more powerful than your handheld though

I am visiting Lansing in a couple of weeks and have programmed up my Pro 97 for the EDACS stuff. I have not yet used this scanner for EDACS, LTR has not been a problem. Anyone have tips I should look for before getting there and finding out I programed something wrong ? LTR was very straight forward.

Trip went great, programming I had done in advance also worked well. I was pleasantly surprised. They have their coverage area worked out well it seems, two counties over and not a peep, one county over and reception was great.

Has any heard what is happening to Easton County as far as their radio system? I was wondering if the plan to use a system simular to Ingham county.
