Man wasn't that a fun one last night!! Winds howling, power out from 11 pm to im guessing 3 am. Trees blown over, power lines snapped. Lots of activity on the scanner. Anyone else's power went out?? Damage??

My power didn't go out but the cheap picknic table (heavy duty plastic) was blown off the back porch and into the yard. The discone antenna is still standing. There is power out and some trees down around the city.

Skywarn

Don't know if anybody cares to listen, but the frequencies for the Rutherford County ARES/SKYWARN Storm Spotter Net are:

145.230 MHz LaVergne
145.370 MHz North Nashville
147.360 MHz Short Mountain

These repeaters are linked with several others throughout the mid-state. It pretty much covers everything within 3 counties or so from Nashville in every direction, farther in some.

When the weather is bad, you can hear reports from field spotters all over the mid-state, not just Rutherford County. One of the main callsigns you'll hear on this during severe weather is W4HOT, which is the ham radio station at the American Red Cross chapter in Murfreesboro.

Just for everyone's info!
