Using a BCD996XT....Is there a software package (freescan - i didn't see it in there, etc) that will let you enter in batches of POI.

Using the GPS and loving that it turns on/off systems as I drive. The reason I ask is I'd like to setup the "Dangerous X-ing", etc for Red Light cameras (and I don't really feel like driving around them to set it)

Tried searching forums, but didn't see anything relevant.

I'm using the Garmin 18xPC - works great - even buried inside dash (yes inside). But the only way I can figure out how to get a poi in there is to hold the GPS button in. I'd like to do it in software (just load a bunch of lat/long) and upload it to the scanner.

Unfortunately using POI is not something FreeScan can do....yet.

It would be interesting to know if the other XT packages (BCTool, ARC-XT and ProScan) supports this, though...Mike

I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 connected to my Home Patrol and I just use POI Loader for my POIs.

Free Software for GPS Import to BCD996XT

I wrote some software to solve the problem....See the readme during installation if you're interested in how/why this program exists. Here's a download link and some screen shots....hope this helps somebody out sometime.

All I've tested this with is the Uniden BCD996XT (as the import file is specific to that radio). It should work with the BCD396XT as well, but don't have one to test with. Plus not sure how many people hook a GPS up to that unit.
