If you are speaking of the U.S., +5MHz is standard for 450-470, but +3MHz in the 470-512 band. In the 851-866 band, separation is -45MHz, but in the 900MHz band it is -39MHz. In the VHF bands there is no standard separation possible, except the old mobile phones used +5.26MHz; and the marine band.
In Canada, UHF separation can be 5.000, 4.9875, or 5.0125MHz. In the 420-430MHz band, I believe +4.000 is used also.
