Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

That's going far back in my memory banks but I don't recall any such feature in Astro RSS.

Yes. Is it an Astro Saber or XTS3000?

Click on one of the Zone Assignments. On the bottom row where you can scroll from zone to zone, there is a button to the far right that has a picture of a file folder, click on that button and you see all your zone by the number and the names. Also, you can change the names in this view. High light the row that you want to move that zone or the point where you want to insert or delete, and right mouse click. Click on the action you want to take and follows the instructions.

Thank you for the reply. It’s an Astro Saber. But it’s not writable in CPS, only RSS. CPS does not like one of the features and won’t write to it, so I’m stuck with RSS for this specific radio.

Once again, no. He is using Astro RSS. I believe the last version was 9.05.
Ok, I didn't realize that there was an RSS version for the Astro Saber. Must be for analog and non-trunking radios. Well, so much for helping him with inserting a Zone Assignment. If the RSS is like other RSS applications like for the MT2000, etc., my answer is still yes, you can insert and delete zones but not move them around like in CPS applications
