I just purchased a Spectra mobile that came with no installation instructions for the wiring and I am told the wrong programming software. I purchased the following:
Motorola Spectra Radio T99DX+088W_Astro P25 VHF 110w T04KLH9PW3AN is the radio information. 1MEG 2.5KHz. AZ492FT3773
I received RSS R17.00.00 which caused others to insist that my radio is actually a Astro25. Not according to the serial number and model on the FCC Type ID web site. I'd appreciate clarification if possible.
Others have insisted that I power on the unit and provide the firmware code but they won't confirm the wiring for me. I have a DB25 connector that will plug in under the handle or adjacent to the mini-UHF connector. Which is correct, please? I also have an orange/green wire that have been shorted together and attached to a white wire. Probably the color they had handy. I am assuming that this is the ignition sense and if plugged into the fuse block the radio will power on with the key. If connected to an always on the radio will always stay on (although spikes are always a concern.)
Clarification of both the software needed and the installation would be kind. If the software the commercial vendor sent is wrong I can only ask that they send the correct software. Otherwise I am hosed.
