I have previously installed OP25 on a Linux Mint dual boot machine. I am attempting to install OP25 on a Windows 10 machine running VirtualBox with Linux Mint as the guest OS. I can't get it to work. When I try to launch OP25, I get this error message,"osmosdr source_c creation failure". Is this because Linux and OP25 is installed in a VirtualBox instead of directly on the hard drive? Should I be able to install OP25 with the same commands on a VirtualBox as you do directly on Linux?

I have 2 virtual boxes with the latest mint with both Max's and Boatbods Branches running fine
did you enable the USB Device? usually, I get the error if that is not set

Thanks Jason, the USB issue was the problem; I had none selected. My next goal is to get the new version up and running, as shown in your second screen shot.

it took some work, Boatbod's is pretty straightforward, Max's takes some work

one things to remember is when it calls for a command starting with Python, use the command Python3 instead with mint

I got the Boatbod version up and running inside the VirtualBox. I notice that OP25 frequently hangs while running, especially after a keyboard action. It requires a restart to get running again. I'm wondering if it's a memory issue.

Which version are you having this issue with?

this last beta i notice it loses the control channel (im using 1 rtl with rx.pi) i notice the TKSB counts freeze
For those of you running op25 (Linux) on VirtualBox, I'd suggest that you set your USB interface parameters in VB to use the
USB 3.0 (xHCI) Controller as this seems to allocate more buffer or perhaps faster handlers that has always worked best for my
instances of op25 running on VB.

Another thing to check is to see that you have allocated at least two (2) processors in the System-Processor section along with
ensuring enough memory has also been allocated for your Linux OS.

It was working fine yesterday; now OP25 launches, but "tsbks" reading remains at zero, nothing else happens. Tried the fine tuning; anything else to try?

yeah i dont have an option to switch to usb 3.0 in virtual box, i did up the processors so you need to download the extensions pack to fix the USB 3.0 missing

and everything works good starting up

Why would you not want to load the Extension Pack? It only takes a few minutes to install it in your Linux OS.

Going to need to see the stderr.2 log. Might also be worthwhile to see the datascope plot.

Issues seem to be fixed. I installed the VirtualBox Extension pack from post #12 above, selected the USB 3.0 controller option, and now no program freezes or lockups.

Another reason for installing the extension pack is so that the virtual screen can be arbitrarily resized and utilize the host's hardware acceleration.

Sorry, I misread your post and thought you were complaining about having to install the extension pack. :)
