Hey all,
I have an '02 Jeep Liberty and I am looking to put my Pro-79 handheld scanner in it. I want to be able to hear my dispatch channels from far away (at least 20 miles) and my pager is not capable of that. Is there a way to get a good antenna to mount on my roof rack or something that is not permanent and does not require any drilling? Also, where should I put the scanner in my Jeep? Is there an easy way to do this?
The other alternative I can do is get some type of mount for the scanner and keep the rubber duckie antenna on it rather than putting a mounted antenna on my car. Will I get pretty good reception with that? Any mount reccomendations? I don't like to drill so what are my options? All I am going to be listening to with this scanner is conventional frequencies in Morris County, NJ. I am keeping my Pro-106 as my base (home scanner) and since I have this Pro-79 scanner laying around my house I figured I might as well use it.
Thanks!
