How do I go about obtaining the Intelligent Scan Feature for my APX6500? I do not see it as a flash feature and not sure how to get it.

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Not enough info provided to answer. Is this a 6500 AN or BN? What is the FLASHcode of the radio, specifically does it have trunking or is it conventional only? Are you working off of an old codeplug that was created before FW R17?
The codeplug needs to be aware of the radio's firmware version before you will see newer features. Program the radio with your codeplug, then read the radio back and work off of that codeplug which will now match the radio's firmware.

Radio is an AN, Which I was thinking may have affect on that. I have the codeplug open with the updated firmware.

IPS works fine on every 6500 AN in our fleet, over 500 of them. No special flash other than P25 trunking/TDMA in the radios. If the scan type is set to Intelligent Priority, then it should work provided the firmware isn't ancient and codeplug version matches.

Is IPS is flash that has to be put in or was it an added feature with a certain firmware?
