Anyone have any interesting or yet-unidentified business frequecies in DC
they want to share? I've been trying to figure out what 496.8375 is for a few days now. Sounds like towing or traffic info. Also if anyone gets tired of listening to the police & FD calls here there's always some entertaining chatter on the Washington Express Bicycle Courier channels:

'A' channel: 496.0125
'B' channel: 495.5125
'C' channel: 496.1875

496.8375 (WIL736) appears to be a Champion Communication frequency and is likely part of a large LTR trunked radio system covering the DC area.

I was under the impression that LTR systems weren't monitorable with current scanners, though I'm probably wrong about this. Being a trunked system would explain why I'm picking up some towing related coms, some traffic reporting related coms, and some Spanish language coms. So...next question I guess is if this trunked system is scannable does anyone have the freq's & tg's for it or could help me try to track them down myself? I guess looking up Champion Communications licenses in the FCC DB would be a first step right?

It is more than likely an LTR "Regular" system and if so it can be tracked with the Uniden scanners that support LTR (e.g., BC780XLT). There is someone else who just started looking into this system (or possibly a related system), see this thread:

Champion Communication operates LTR systems in many major metro areas, mostly in the UHF-T band.

I went through the licenses for Champion Communication in the DC area and came up with the following. With any luck, it closely follows reality in terms of what frequencies are used and where the sites are. These are probably separate LTR systems. If anyone is interested, there is a lot of work to do. There also appears to be licenses for more sites in the Baltimore area and northern Virginia, so if you're located in either of those areas then check the FCC database.
