Interesting to see a large commercial entity like that build its self of off brodcastify. Normally these types of operations in my experience build out custom dedicated scanner systems. Good to see that companies are seeing that there is now a very robust community who stream audio to brodcastify, which must be a huge boon for them as it’s must save at least some time, money, and frustration to not have to operate so many unique feeds with unique hardware/software requirements.

I've used Dataminr at my job.

On a basic level, it's an aggregation/alert service mainly used by news media outlets to be aware of potential breaking news incidents happening. The service will scan public-facing social media posts, along with listening to and discerning public safety scanner feeds. If the service finds a post or audio it believes could be a breaking incident, it will email the subscriber the social media post, or a snippet of the scanner audio. It's main use is for local, market-based alerts, but will also alert for large-scale incidents of interest regionally, statewide or nationally.
