If Entergy Mississippi would make some sort of arrangement such as SCANA did in SC, Mississippi could set up a statewide Motorola 800 TRS, simular to SC's Palmetto 800. But as it stands, no such offers or deals are up in the air. It would be interesting if MS could snag into the Homeland Security Grants and go that route,.. though knowing personally how the government works in this state, just agreeing that it would make sense would take 3 to 5 years lol. There are at least three good suggestions floating in the multitude of committee's and subcommittees in the state legislation process for upgrading the DPS communications, and some of them did manage to work out in practical usage with the new comm system in the DPS mobile command center, and the many new narrowband freqs being put into usage for MDOC, and DHS. From the talk (off the record of course LOL) we will be getting at the very least a Hi band network for all agencies, and UHF for special emergency uses (LTR was mentioned for the greater metro jackson MEMA network for future use). I will keep an ear to the air and an eye on the government (2 eyes would never work as I would end up crosseyed trying to follow the infighting lol) for changes. And will keep feelers out on the net to watch for any new FCC granting for MS.
