Hey all, I’ve got a small Anytone mobile radio in my car, and a Yaseu HT I take around as well. Both get interference from my wireless phone charger I have installed in my car. It’s mounted with a clip to my vent and plugged into a usb on the dash. As soon as I unplug the charger it stops. Basically it’s locking up different vhf frequencies with static. Anyone else deal with this or know of a solution? Thanks in advance!

I have dealt with it in both home and mobile applications, at home it was my Comcast cable box that would lock up some VHF ham frequencies. I had isolated it to the cable box. I guess I could have used the corresponding filters but..

I had cable for at least 25 years and was fed up with the constant price increases and less and less Channels with each price increase and finally cut the cord and took the box back, all my issues were gone.

Similar issues can happen in the car from chargers, someone might have some kind of filter or something they can suggest but personally I would just charge your phone at home and if you need a quick charge in the car you would just temporarily lock out the VHF frequencies being interfered with, after you got a fast charge then stop avoiding the interfered with frequencies. Good luck to you.. Bob.

You either find a device that doesn't spray hash all over the spectrum, you use it and deal with it...or you don't use it. I haven't seen many wireless chargers that don't sound electrically messy, wired ones seem to be a little better.

I had this issue in my wife's old car. The tire pressure warning light kept coming on, but all the tires were fine. Wasn't the low battery alert for the sensors.
Finally figured out it was a USB charger my son was using for his Nintendo Switch game. Unplugged his USB charger and after a set time, the TPS alert would clear. Plug it back in, it would return.

Solution was to get a higher quality cigarette lighter/USB adapter. Found one that worked, and never had the problem again.

So, question is, does your wireless charger use a separate cigarette lighter to USB adapter, or is it all built in to the same cable? If it's separate, try some different USB chargers until you find one that runs clean.

Your solution to the problem is right in your post. Unplug it and the interference is gone. It doesn't need to be plugged in all the time.

Wireless charger actually has a USB C cable end, and that's plugged into a regular USB adapter, then into the car's USB port. That could be the issue I guess.

Unfortunately the USB ports are behind my mobile radio so they're not that easy to access. I used to just leave the charger plugged in and throw my phone on it when I get in the car to keep it topped off.

Had this several years ago. Suddenly one day the car radio had static. I asked myself what changed since the noise started? I saw the cellphone charger, & threw it in the trash. Used a different one, & no noise. So to the OP, don’t fix anything when the solution is to throw the offending charger in the trash, & replace it with one from another brand.
