Interference on 44.74

Seems to be worse on certain days, anyone else hearing this or is it local to me

What kind of antenna are you using. I don't hear interference, but I do hear intermittent bursts of data.

Not talking about the data bursts, I'm currently using a homebrew verticle dipole cut for 39.5 as a lowbander. Almost sounds like ignition noise. Probably a bad motor in a neighbor's refrigerator.

Low Band Dipole on 44.74

How's the reception on low band w/ that dipole? What precise design did you use?

Program around it. Try 44.735 or 44.745 Is it just on that freq or across the band?

Same thing happens sometimes at my location (Columbia, Howard Co.).

Tried switching from antenna to antenna, cannot shake it.

Antenna does very well on lowband, can copy most msp mobiles up to 25 miles away. Standard half wave dipole equation 468/Fmhz. Elements made of 1/4 copper tubing on a 20' pvc frame about 50' in the air. 3/8 hardline as coax. If I had a an antenna analyser could probaly tweak the performance.

Trimmer, would you possibly have a link to that antenna design? I was thinking of doing something similar atop about a 60 foot oak tree I have in the yard.

I notaced when IM near A med vac It gets stronger. Iguess its like a radio tracker.
