Is anyone else noticing a digital signal on FMARS/2, 154.280? The signal sounds fairly distant from a high elevation in Fairfax, VA. It is a busy but intermittent signal. Typically it seems to be transmitting for a duration of 30+ seconds every few minutes, if not more frequently.

Just wondering if anyone else has heard this, and/or has any idea of where it may be originating.

I was able to monitor what you describe earlier today while on 95N in Virginia. I was only able to copy it well between the miles of 140 to 160, give or take. It was the strongest around the area of 95 that passes by the monument for the Marine Corps museum. Later this evening I was also able to hear what might have been some distant morse code and someone playing music over this frequency.

All of this was done with my mobile ham rig and a small antenna so I can only imagine the problems that you're having...

95...

Drove up 95 late last night, VHF was open, heard carrier key up a few times on 154.280 around mile 135 and then data bursts. Wasn't able to get a PL/DPL off the carrier, but it was defintely FM.

VHF was pretty open too, could heard DC and Richmond FM broadcast stations at the same time at mile 160 and Richmond and Fairfax VSP were talking all over each other on 159.000

I was getting interference on the same freq today on route 123 near the old lorton jail.
It sounded like a constant beeping that drove me nuts while driving.
