I was just at International Mall and don't think the RR database is current. I saw everyone with XPR 7550s with digital audio, so they're gonna be on DMR now. I didn't have a scanner, so I couldn't try to findem.

I have set it up as Conventional with three frequencies.

But do you know if it's trunked or not? Reason I ask is cos I have logged 462.2250 & 462.5000 as Capacity Plus on DSD+, but the signal is too weak where I am to tell what/who it is. Unless what I'm hearing is someone else on the same frequencies by coincidence, then maybe International Mall is actually using a 2-frequency Capacity Plus system.

If you program them as conventional, you will luck out and hear stuff, but not realize its trunked. And what about 451.8250? Is that one actually active? What I've seen with DSD+ is that 462.2250 & 462.5000 are a 2-frequency Capacity Plus system with a very fast rotating of the rest channel, but no other frequencies.

The only frequencies I programed were 462.500 and 462.250. I wasn't paying that much attention as I had the West County F.D. also programed in the same bank.

Yes West County EDACS as I can't get the P25 there and I am not getting Tampa F.D. Dispatch on P25 either.

They're almost never active on the P25 system yet. The county seems to be awfully slow at moving to the P25 system. Meanwhile, you and I, the taxpayers, have funded 2 radio systems.

Anyways, it looks like I'm about to make the trip and become the biggest nerd at the food court, complete with a laptop, 2 dongles, and 2 antennas.

So I went ahead and did some monitoring at the mall and sure enough, they are trunked, not conventional. 451.8250 is inactive. I have made a submission to the RR database:

I am also submitting a correction to remove the conventional frequencies except for Dillard's. It does seem silly having a trunking system with 4 voice paths to handle only 2 talk groups.

Thanks for the extra effort. I was talking before about the P25 for the County but all I seem to get besides odds and ends is Temple Terrace. Maybe we will live long enough to see the system on line.

That system is P25 simulcast and none of the scanners work properly on those, so you're prolly missing stuff. But even on DSD+, there's very little activity.
