I just wrote a submission for Inyo County about 2 hours ago. I'm not sure I got all of these. I did a county license search and went through it extensively, comparing them with notes of mine. When the submission data is posted I will have to see if I included all of these. Bishop FD dispatch has a repeater on Silver Peak, northeast of Bishop.

That list has had errors on it since I became a ham in 1999 or 2000. I'm still a member of that club and for some reason have dragged my feet for 20 years in correcting it. Yup, it's all my fault! I've taken periodic scanning trips all over Inyo County, staying in Independence, Lone Pine, Furnace Creek, Shoshone and Tecopa just to listen to the scanner. It's been about 10 years since my last trip of this type. At one time I had the UHF link system for the Sheriff's system all figured out, but some changes have occurred so I didn't submit that info. I need to spend time in Independence to monitor the up and down links to Cerro Gordo. Some time east of Lone Pine to listen to up and downlinks between Cerro Gordo and Rogers. I'm fully vaccinated now, but I'm not going to be traveling until state and national statistics for Covid-19 improve drastically, so this fall is the earliest I can do that. There are some businesses I want to spend money at and hopefully they will survive until I can travel. The date ranch down south of Shoshone comes to mind as well as about 3 mom and pop motels.

There might be a change or two in Caltrans frequency use in Death Valley as well, at least the FCC database shows that. I need to confirm on the ground. I don't have to travel at all to figure out everything on Silver Peak, it all booms into me full quieting. I can even pick up some simplex traffic from Bishop. Who woulda thunk?

By the way, years ago we did a simplex 2 meter test between Mammoth Hospital and Northern Inyo Hospital. It was a little scratchy, but a good copy. I seem to remember someone trying simplex on 2 meters between Northern Inyo in Bishop and Southern Inyo Hospital in Lone Pine. I don't remember the results. For a number of reasons I haven't been an active ham in 10 years.

When I have some time I will post what I know about the UHF linking system the Sheriff's department has. You will be able to listen to about 4 frequencies, the uplinks and downlinks for Cerro Gordo, Rogers and the El Paso and Tecopa repeaters. Tone scanning will be required as the links carry the tones to enable repeater selection. I also need to drive to the west boundary of the park where I should be able to receive the links between Cerro Gordo and Rogers from the same location. When I get time I will post what I have.
