Is Iosco County fully using the MPSCS or are they still running off their VHF system. When I was up in that area last month I did not hear any of the Iosco County MPSCS talkgroups. The VHF frequencies were still in use.

The State Police and the DNR use the MPSCS alot. Iosco uses it a little for the cars on the West side, other then that they use VHF, they sometimes refer to it as their "drug channel", I get the idea they think it is secure? Oagamaw uses it for the cars on the east side of their county. When I get on my other computer, I''ll look up the talk groups for you, I scan open, there's never much going on. Heck I only have maybe 3 groups locked out, and those are the tech groups!

The main talk groups you will encounter around Tawas are: 3390-Tawas local police, 1163-State police, 4018-DNR, 1389-Ogemaw Central,1218-Iosco Sheriff. It is true though that most traffic is still on VHF.
