The Iosco County Board of Commissioners approved making application
for $226,467 to the Michigan 2004 Homeland Security Grant program.
This will allow them among other things to Move all law enforcement
agencies within Iosco County to the state's 800 MHZ radio system.

Very interesting. I wonder how their coverage will be with the current towers across the region? The heavy forest up there is very unforgiving to 800 MHz., transmissions. They will probably end up having to add a few towers in the future for handheld coverage at the very least.
