• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

The Homepatrol1 is not a Phase 2 capable scanner. The Homepatrol 2 IS however, as that is what I am using. Furthermore you will need a Phase 2 scanner when Scott County and Rock Island County migrate to the SARA Network.

Some of the talkgroups on ISICS are phase 1, most of the State TGs are Phase 2. In Scott County it a simulcast system with a tower at the I80 west bound rest area in Bettendorf and one west of Blue Grass in Muscatine County. Where I live in Davenport less than 3 miles to the Bettendorf site I am behind a hill and can't get the system with any reliability. When I am out and about in the mobile I have no problems with hearing it with my 325P2.
