• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Hearing a lot of ISP traffic today. For several hours this AM Troopers were using 5007 (Tac7A) & 5008 (Tac 7B) for 'test scenarios" ie car chases, etc. Also heard traffic on 5202 (Law 2C) Cedar Falls for a while this AM. Cedar Rapids has been active all day on both 5302 (Law 2D) and 5304 (Law 4D) with 5302 still active now.

I use Trunk Recorder to record all radio traffic from the Westcom site(s), and found the above while reviewing today's traffic.

I haven't listened to the ISP for quite awhile due to their poor audio quality. I was surprised to hear them using many 10 codes.

I heard Shelby County on talkgroup 56701 off of the Underwood site in Pottawattamie County. Sounds like law traffic.

I've been monitoring Louisa & Des Moines Co towers this weekend and not one TG has been listed. I'll leave the log screen open this week and see if I happen to catch something. Still lots of traffic on VHF IHP Base so I know they haven't made the move yet.

BTW off topic but has any one found an "affordable" 100-1000 MHz signal splitter? Getting too many receivers in the shack that I would like to have running.

You all should be catching some traffic in central and SW Iowa. A lot of the current VHF state assets are having trouble so they are switching to ISICS for operations.
