Did you catch a tone maybe? Ogle county used to use it on occasions to contact those not on the repeater.

No, no tone because the transmissions are too brief. Gotta have at least a full minute or so b4 a tone can be caught.

IREACH is used all the time by Kendall and Kane Co's for bad accidents needing help by other depts.....

Don't forget Portage, IN PD who uses 155.0550 with a PL of 88.5. When conditions are right, their signal casts a wide blanket (And, at least in the past, lights up the ISTHA IREACH patches on StarCom)
