Your local ham radio freqs and repeater would probably be good to listen to too.

Joe, I've seen a few of those trucks up close. From what I understand, they are used only AFTER the event is over to establish links with other similar trucks in other areas. These vehicles are crucial especially when day to day normal ERS communications go down after an incident. I have a few pictures somewhere. I'll didg them up and send them to you if I can find them!

Google MERS and FEMA and you should get a good overview of the Comm capabilities. As Manny said, these are used to support [typically after] the Joint Field Office / Disaster Field Office sites """IF""" the local infrastructure has been damaged.

VHF High-Band Regional Radio Network
153.755 - Region 1 - PL 162.2
153.800 - Region 2 - PL 162.2
153.935 - Region 3 - PL 162.2
153.965 - Region 4 - PL 162.2
153.740 - Region 5 - PL 162.2

Also, as mentioned previously, TG 32560 is active. Some of the radio ID's coming up have aliases for DEMHS (discovered back when they were rebanding the radios).

Don't forget about the I-Call/I-Tac, CSPERN, & hotlines. All likely to be busy. You never know what will pop up on the CSP system. There's the new Transit TG's 48432/48464 and SPAN (32848).

I have a question for KB1JHU.Are the five freqs listed on VHF Hi-band Network Are these for FEMA use Nationwide or are these just for use for your local Statewide Emergency Mangement Agency?
