I've enjoyed my Icom R75 for many years... up until yesterday. I contacted Icom America Service and was informed that they no longer have parts to service R75s. Is there an alternate repair service solution that someone might be aware of? I'm doubtful based on Icom's claim that there are no replacement parts but thought I'd check here.

Sucks to hear that. Unless you know exactly what failed, find a real good electronics shop that can hopefully identify what is wrong and find an alternate part to replace it with.
Whats wrong with yours? My R75 seems to a little better on HF than my R8500. Makes me rethink if I should sell it.

Thanks for your reply Bearcatrp. I turned it on yesterday and the sound level is now almost non-existent even with RF gain maxed out and squelch fully decreased. I can barely hear a strong local AM broadcaster. The problems exists with either internal or external speakers. Receiver worked perfectly prior to yesterday until powered off. Noticed this issue when next powered on. No other receiver button or dial adjustments made... just powering off and then on a day later.

Did you try another wall outlet to insure plenty of power was going to the radio? If there are any filters installed or other optional additions, remove those to see if any of them died.

Affirmative, and the receiver is stock with nothing added.

Some came with DSP installed. Depending what year yours was built, Check. If it’s installed, remove it and see how it goes.

Check to see if the right antenna is still selected (1/2) and Att. not engaged. Lastly make sure your antenna cable is still good, no breaks in connectors or coax. That's all I got.

His business is an authorized ICOM service center & he is a top notch tech. Way back when, he was the head technician for STANDARD Radio. Standard radio made top shelf amateur radio equipment in the 1990's & was bought out by Vertex Standard in the late 90's.
Tell him the guy who bought the pair of NIB STANDARD C510A Handi Talkies from him a while back recommended him.

Backup your memories to your computer and then do a complete or full or master reset using the instructions from the manual.
See if that helps.
I've seen similar issues this time of year when low indoor humidity comes with the cold outdoor air causing some very dry indoor humidity levels.

I now have several static control measures in place as well as much better humidity control which pretty much eliminated static discharge caused problems or total damage in some cases.
Static zaps that can cause damage or odd operation of today's electronic devices does not need to be seen or felt when touching something to do some pretty bad stuff.

This is likely one of my last options. I'll give this a shot. Thanks rja1.

That sounds like a blown front end. Not worth fixing if that's the case.

Might check with this guy. You can watch him on YouTube doing repairs. https://d-labelectronics.com/#

Try sarts1, he is an authorized Icom service center in Michigan.

Opps, I see someone already posted Matt's info. He is my neighbor and does good work. Very active with our local ham radio club.
