I have tried a few antenna's including the RS 800. I don;t see any difference in range over the 246t stock duck. Am I missing something here? If so, which is the best for 450-850?

For me, the RS 800 was far better than stock. The RS 800 was replaced with a Diamond SRH519 that was even better. Currently, I'm on day 2 with a Pryme RD-9 that appears awesome! I mainly monitor 150, 450, and 850, and each antenna was a little better than the one before.

Forgot to mention that the Diamond and Pryme have SMA connectors and I use them on my 396. I have not tried them on the 246 with an SMA-BNC adapter yet.

That rd-9 is nice and is an drastic improvement finally over stock. I couldn't say that about any of the others I tried.

I took that Larsen back, took two RS's back including the RS 800.

The rd-9 WON'T be going back. It's the best so far by a significant margin. I bought it at Fry's with the BNC $16.00.

Thanks!

Joe
