OK... I know Ive been busy with the storm and all but it seems quite. No NARCs, TACs 11 thru 14 are dead and the hookers are thick on Broadway!
WHAT GIVES!?
Even the DEA conventional channel is quite!

I do know that some changes to the talk groups have been made... But most of those are for Public services. IE CMF, Public works, etc.

Has anyone else noticed this too???

But going back to my original question....
I set my scanner to an open mode and text coded everything...Im finding some new talk groups ...
3952 Parks Maybe?
6384 Some type of security...not known
13732...Number maybe wrong ...Writing and driving isnt my forte'

Is anyone else doing searches? And Does a Type 2 sytem incorperate type 1 ...in otherwords can the system or does it use fleet maps?

I hope that makes sence...

The numbers which you list above are type II, though 13732 is status bit 4 (Emergency Crosspatch Talkgroup) of 13728.

Though type II with Type I is used and called hybrid or IIi. A Fleet map would be required accordingly.

Thanks frank

So if I wanted to track that ID number ...would you think it would be on the Type 1 system? And would that require a fleet map?

What Im asking is should I reprogram another bank to recieve that cross patch?

No, those three examples you listed are all type II. The GRE scanners will show them with the base status bit ie, 13728 but some Unidens if set properly may show the + 4 status bit, 13732 which as stated, is a more definitive, Emergency Crosspatch Talkgroup, though the voice is the same but dispatcher may (or may not) treat the call differently. Both scanners will receive the com, unless it's I-Call, then the GRE will miss it. But the Uniden would display the ID as 6 digit, with a lead 7 followed by zeros if needed to make it six digits (in this case it does not need zeros), 713732. If system is EDACS, the lead would be with a subscript letter i in place of the 7 for I-Calls

I see...
Then what I came across was a private call from one unit to another...right?

you would figure there would be away to track those calls on a scanner.

No, read
I previously said:
unless it's I-Call, then the GRE will miss it. But the Uniden would display the ID as 6 digit
and hear the conversation. Which should also answer your following "track" question.

BTW, Lindsay provides links to a great amount of information regarding Trunking Info on the left side of RR Home page, Trunking Info. Loumaag tipped me on how to point to a link, plus a few other nice clues. :)
