SDS100/SDS200: Is It safe to buy the SDS 100? Did they fix the cold Solder Joint Problems

I was thinking of buying a New SDS 100.
Do the current ones in stock have that Cold Solder Joint problem still?
I haven't seen anything new posted about the current stock of the SDS 100's out there.

Any thoughts will be appreciated

Ok new issues with SDS 100 today, Has been working fine up until this morning. 1) can't adjust volume, switches between 4 and 5, If I really push on the volume switch it will work correctly for a short while (minutes) then goes back to switching between two levels, say 4 and 5 or 8 and 9 etc...

This is the one issue that prevents me from getting another 100. I use a Unication now, but would love something with a headphone jack.

Don't deprive yourself of the pleasure and enjoyment of the hobby. Buy your SDS100 from a reputable dealer with a liberal return policy. I always recommend buying through Amazon.

While the responses are good advice, does anybody know if the current SDS100 for sale , (lets say it was made in November of 2023) , would it still have the cold solder problems?
Did Uniden address the problem so that newly made units don't have those issues?
I Know if I buy a unit from Amazon or Scanner Master they have a return policy, but what happens after that?
I'm stuck with having to ship it to Uniden for a warranty repair and hoping they fix it right, which they don't have good track record from what I'm reading here.

For me I got my 1st 100 when released 2018 and my 2nd in 2022. I haven’t had any problem with either scanner to this day! Both are used almost daily, I hope you take a shot at getting one but try to pick a dealer you can trust. Both my 100s came from Scanner Master. Good luck!
