This afternoon have been playing around and stumbled upon a control channel of 935.4750 and have been listening. I'm also running Uni-Trunker and it seems like this might be Kennecott...anyone have any ideas?

Looks like you're right: WPMZ292. Nice catch! Have you heard anything on 935.450? Did you catch a PL tone?

I've been monitoring this for about an hour...not sure if its Kennecott or Geneva Rock...talking about a crusher and I have heard several trucks being loaded. Have also heard talk of truck pumps and even security doing checks.

The PL tone that I get from the control channel via UniTrunker is 105.88

The frequency is only licensed to Kennecott. But it's listed as conventional (with two frequency pairs), and 105.88 is not a standard PL tone. It sounds like a TRS access frequency. What "control channel" are you hearing? Is there FM voice on 935.475?

935.4750 sounds like a normal trunking control channel...I don't know much about the different sounds control channels make but there are no voices on this frequency...just data like the UCAN system. According to UniTrunker the channels are listed as:
#30
#35
#37 (with this being the control channel - don't know what this stuff means)
#116
#130
#155

On my other scanner that I am listening to the voice channels...the frequencies show up as 935.3875, 935.450, 936.9500, 936.6375

Oh, okay. 935.3875 is licensed to Kennecott as one of several trunked frequencies (KNNR209 and WPLG245). Sounds like a trunked system with the typical FCC license confusion. I've only decoded one trunked system from scratch myself, so I'm no expert. Some systems are harder to figure out than others. I'd love to put it in the DB if you can decode it. Good luck!

Kennecott does have a 900 MHz trunked system. A friend of mine runs the radio shop at Kennecott. The two 900 conventional freqs are also used. I don't know the particulars of either but I will try to get more info if anyone is interested.

Who currently has the contract for Kennecott? UCS, McIntosh, someone else?

My dusty old list shows that 935.475 and 936.95 are part of Kennecott system 6F1A, located on Curry Peak. Or at least they were in 2003.

This is my first stop when looking up, or when I've "found" a new (to me) systems in the valley. The site is a bit old, but there is still a lot of good info. Thank-you, Gary KD7RTO, for this site:

From personnal monitoring (and the above lists), the following is what I have monitored in the 900 Mhz band, using Trunker. Hope it helps...
