The reason I am asking is because I get odd and even numbered talk groups when programming my BC895XLT as it mentions in the manual. Also when I simply put in the 4 or 5 800 mhz frequencies and assign it E2 (and no scan list), I get much more activity than when I assign any fleet map using E1_.

Yes new britain is a Type IIi. I use the 396 and have the fleet map set to prested 3. When in doubt manualy assign each block its proper value and dont worry about presets. Or choose the corect preset and make sure the porper blocks corespond.

block 0-5 I have as code 4
block 6 as code 12
and seven as nothing.

This works pretty well for me.

I believe then that an E1P3 for my scanner and I'm getting better results assigning E2 for soe reason. I guess I should leave good enough alone.

Well my manual says if even and odd ID's appear then the system is hybrid and thats why I assume its hybrid. I must correct myself because the activity I was referring to as "a lot of activity" are actually the different radio ID's comming up and not the talk groups. As long as I get the police and fire OK I'm contempt. I have it set now to E1P3.

Oh by the way, New Britain is as hard hitting as people claim, I can't believe some of the calls I hear. Maybe Middletown were I live isn't so bad after all.
