Hi Peter,
To answer some of your questions, the chart that is listed on the RWC page is very old and should be used as a loose reference. Many of the channels have changed. Also, “G” and “H” deck channels seem to be inconsistently programmed in different agency radios. Long story short, there is not any solid information on a lot of the rarely used channels. We all learn by listening.
Is G15 the same as OS?
-unconfirmed. DB lists G15 as “Event Security 2843”, SWFD lists as “Air Operations 2883”
Is G13 the same as OS1?
-unconfirmed. DB lists G13 as “Event Security 2844”. I have also monitored G13 as 2844 during Fiesta Bowl monitoring. SWFD lists G13 as “OS 3 2885”
What is Air Ops? - talkgroup? conventional?
-There are several Sky Harbour Air Ops talkgroups:
1182
1199
1188
Again, the usage descriptions of these talkgroups vary depending on sources.
PPS1 thru PPS6 - what is that?
-These are mutual aid or interoperability channels. Unconfirmed as:
G1 PPS1 2904
G2 PPS2 2903
G3 PPS3 2902
G4 PPS4 2900
G5 PPS5 2899
G6 PPS6 2898
SPTAC 1 thru 4 - what is that?
-These are also mutual aid or interoperability channels. Unconfirmed as:
G7 SPTAC1 2897
G8 SPTAC2 2896
G9 SPTAC3 2895
G10 SPTAC4 2888
MUNZPD - ???
-I think you are referring to MUN2PPD 2901. This is a mutual aid talkgroup for city services to be able to contact PD. Unconfirmed.
ITac vs INTER vs IMS - ???
-ITac are simplex and repeated frequencies that are used nationwide for interop. Channel names do not match exactly to the link below, but here are the frequencies.
Common Public Safety - The RadioReference Wiki
-INTER are interoperability talkgroups. All are unknown or unconfirmed.
-IMS are Airport “Incident Management” talkgroups. All are unknown or unconfirmed.
PD TECH - ?
F13 Radio Technicians 2908. Unconfirmed
Fire West & Fire East - ? link to fire dispatcher?
These are encrypted and no way to monitor. Most likely Mutual aid talkgroups between PD and Fire
All of the talkgroups that you are asking about are very rarely used and there is not a lot of solid information. Phoenix has been using this radio system for 4+ years and there is still very unreliable information about talkgroups other than A, B, and C Decks. Tempe and Peoria who have only had their new systems online for just a few months, and their channels are almost fully mapped! I would like to see some more accurate information for Phoenix.
Fire is now starting to use “K” and “L” deck talkgroups that are also unconfirmed. If anyone has any solid information about D to L deck talkgoups, please submit to the database for updating.
