Is Raleigh NC PD Increasing Encryption?

Noticing encryption on the Southeast and Downtown District TAC channels today, it isn't total encryption, but in the past I haven't seen patrol using encryption on the district TAC channels (only on the Special Ops Tac talkgroups). Hope this has to do with investigation today and not a move towards increased encryption.

Just wondering if anyone else is noticing this change?

An update from this morning, hearing more encryption on the Ops channels as well today, though not all radios are encrypted yet.

Yes, per a friend that's "in the know" yes, this is something they are doing, as for anything else I'm not in the loop yet.

Yeah pretty much have seen it the past two days, so far it hasn't spread to WSO, some of the local PDs, or RPD dispatch, but only time will tell.

My only problem hearing them, is because of simulcast. I have a 436HP which isn't always great with simulcast.
