I have been through several of the forums and still haven't found any useful information on how to program a Motorola Type II Smartnet System that has been rebanded. I have heard their are no video's available at this time that would show just how to do it. I have several software scanning programs (free scan, scancat lite) that seem way to complicated and I really haven't sat down and tried to figure them out, that's why I want to do it manually, this is the way I am used to, as I have been programing my scanners this way for over 30 years. I do get the concept and I have programed several conventional channels into this radio and set up a 800 standard system with the control channels for my town. All I get is a community enforcement department that basically just goes around and checks the parking garages. They are on the same trunking system as the rest of the town, but I don't get the fire departments, city public works, city buses, etc. This is the same community enforcement frequency I would receive on my old style trunking scanner that came out before rebanding. It appears I have it set up for the old trunking frequencies and not set up for the new rebanded frequencies. I have tried to understand the Easy To Read BCT15x Manual, but it has way to much of the unnecessary things in it and not just a simple basic to understand step by step way of programing trunking. For those that want to know everything and have every option and feature available it looks like a great manual, just not what the average person needs to get started. It can't be that hard or that many steps to put down on a piece of paper and have it just show the basics needed to get started. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Had this scanner since Christmas and getting pretty frustrated not to be able to listen to the local trunking frequencies. Thanks for the help,

Honestly, I think hand-programming is gonna be far more difficult than using the software... You just need to be determined and just do it wrong a few times. Eventually it will click and you'll never hand-program again.

Thanks kilowattradio this information from one of your web pages is exactly what I wanted. This tells anyone with a uniden XT scanner exactly how to program a rebanded system in a custom site. This is what a really simple uniden easy to read manual should look like. Now that I got two custom sites programed in I can now turn my attention to learning the Freescan program.

How to Program in the Salem A and B Tower System in a Uniden XT version scanner:

Menu -> Program System -> New System -> MOT -> E/Yes Key
Edit Site -> New Site -> Edit Band Plan -> Custom
Band Plan 1 -> Set Base Freq -> 851.0250 -> 854.0000
Set Offset -> 440 -> Polarity + -> Set Spacing -> 25.00 kHz
Menu -> Band Plan 2 -> Set Base Freq -> 851.0125 -> 868.9875
Set Offset -> 0 -> Polarity + -> Set Spacing -> 25.00 kHz
Menu -> Menu -> Menu -> Set Frequencies
At this point you can program the trunked radio system normally as stated in the manual.
