Is The City of Claremore Going Trunked?

I found a pending trunked system for the City of Claremore under YW the other day. Is the City of Claremore going trunked? Anyone have anymore info on this? Here are the frequencies.

This looks like a good possibility to me. The proposed license was filed by the Claremore Police Dept., and calls for an antenna structure of 123 meters tall, with an ERP of 62 watts. This would be more than sufficient for not only covering the city, but the surrounding areas as well. This would be worth watching for further developments.

Going to hazard a guess: LTR TRS, possibly even Passport. Keep watching for the growth, and implementation of this system.

:? That's funny because all we have heard from that town lately is how broke they are. They had to cut back of all of their public safety etc. I guess it's part of that homeland security grant.

Since I am above and to the West of Claremore. I plug those freq in and see what were hear. I'm not sure why they even need a trunk system. Unless they put County SO etc on also.

Any one know if the Pro Scanner will track that band?

As long as its not going to be digital, almost all the RS PRO series that can get UHF will scan it.. but remember if it is indeed an LTR, then you will need PRO-2067 type as it can do LTR. But if it turns out to be an LTR Passport then no scanner will trunktrack it, but you can monitor in conventional mode. If its digital then youll need a PRO-96/2096 *Upcomming* to monitor digital.

I have heard talk about the City of Claremore last year going to a trunked radio system, but that was before they layed off six Firefighters. Have not heard anything about it lately. I thought that it was a dead issue since I have not heard anything lately. I guess they are going forward with it.

I suspect from examining the layout of the system, that it will mostly likely be an LTR/Passport TRS. "Wireless Technologies" in Tulsa will handle the system install.

This sounds like one of those "wait, see and listen" trunked systems.
