Is the Elkin DOT tower offline?

Not sure when it started, but I noticed today that my scans of the Elkin DOT tower are no longer receiving a signal from it. I can see it from my front porch, so if it was transmitting I would definitely get it. Anyone heard about them working on it or anything else that might be going on with it?

Nope, still nothing. It's not transmitting a signal and I hadn't been able to find out anything about it. I'm getting the Turner Mt. and Fishers Peak towers but the signal from those isn't very strong here.

do a general 700-800 mhz search if you havnt done so yet and just skip over the known towers you already know and see if you can "find" something strong

To be honest, I have fairly limited knowledge on this. I did run a search and found a few strong signals but none that were control channels. At least what I recognize as a control channel with that tell tale sound.
