It is used less, but still in use. I believe the state still requires a VHF radio in each licensed EMS vehicle.

Off the top of my head, the state required at a minimum Hearn, disasterground, and the v-call v-tac channels.

Local MCAs may also have other requirements.

Yes, all licensed EMS vehicles must maintain a VHF radio with HEARN and V-Tac channels programmed; also, ANY EMS transport vehicle shall also maintain a UHF radio as well with all MED channels programmed. These channels are very much in use throughout the state.
