Is there a way to avoid certain states in full database scan using Sentinel or ProScan?

I live in southern CT and in full database scan I get CT, NY and NJ even with range set at 1.0 miles. That’s fun but I’d like to be able to narrow that to CT sometimes. Is this doable in software? I’ve had this scanner for less than a day.

Create a Favorite list import the database you get with your zip code and remove what you don't want to listen

Further to advice above, in Sentinel go to "edit" then "add channels on range" to create a favorites list that reflects what you would get by scanning full database with your location. Then you can remove or avoid what you don't want.

This will be a start until you get more comfortable with creating favorites that more closely reflect your listening habits.

Be way easier if you learn sentinel. I can help you if you needed, the best way is teamviewer and a windows computer. or I can try to guide you through it with voice on something like discord or RR DMs.

Youtube does have a few videos but I haven't found any that work. Mostly, just open the program and play around for 15-20 minutes and see if you can figure it out, that's how I learned it.

Follow jt's suggestion to create a down & dirty starter Favorites list.

Then, in Sentinel, you can edit the list that creates in the Favorites list editor, to cull out what you don't want, or, from the main Sentinel window, just select whatever you want to discard, & <right><click>, which gives you the option to remove whichever ones you want. You can hold down the Shift key, and click the first, and last, iten im a group to select a range of consecutive entries to be deleted, or hold down the Control key to select individual items, then delete them.

I would do the "Add Channels On Range" menu to create three favorite lists, one named for each state. Then go into each list and delete everything that isn't in the named state. Then you can toggle each state on and off with a Quick Key if you like.

I live near the WV panhandle, and can pick up VA, WV, MD, PA, and DC. So I have a separate leact for each, plus a separate list for things that cross borders, like WMATA (which exists in MD, DC, and VA) to avoid scanning the same thing multiple times.
