I am hoping to find someone here who lives in Butler County Ohio who can be so kind to send me a successful program in which they made for their GRECOM PSR-500 (or Radio Shack Pro-106) so that I can listen to my scanner without some issues I keep experiancing.

I am totally new to digital scanning, and have been receiving programs from some very kind and helpful members here whom are not from my area but have been helping me based on the info I provide to them. But since I am totally clueless on digital scanning (I am trying to learn it now in my free time as best as I can) , I may not be providing them the corect info to make a successful program for me.

The programs I receive consists of P25 and conventional frequencies, and while the audio I receive is clear and well within range, the digital frequencies always cut out after a couple seconds before the conversations end. With conventional frequencies, I get the full conversations just perfectly, while the digital conversations keeps cutting out every couple seconds so I never get the entire digital conversations. Its as if the scan function on my scanner completely over-powers even the strongest signals I receive in digital.

Also, for some strange reason, after I upload a new program, it seems that the issue with the interuptions is resolved. But then after I shut the scanner off for the night and back on the following day, the interuptions return again! I dont know what possibly could be the issue.

So I am guessing that I am not providing the members who are helping me the correct info for them to make my programs. And since they dont live in my area, they are working off of the info which I provide them. Since I am a complete begginer to digital scanning, I fear that I am unable to assist them with the proper info that they need for the programming. So I am guessing that the solution would be to find someone in my area who is kind enough to send me their successful program by email or PM. If needed, I will happily pay someone via Paypal for a program which works perfect for my area. Thanks a lot.

Generally with receiving digital signals an antenna tuned for the exact frequency range is a must. Butler County is on MARCS-IP as are my own local agencies and I use a 700/800 Laird Phantom mobile antenna which performs very well hearing this system. I pickup Butler County when in the area including when in the adjacent counties. I use a similar 700/800 antenna at home as well. I decode about 99%.

My non-technical explanation: The difference with "digital" is it is all or nothing, not like with analog, if the signal is weak you just hear a little static mixed in or a low volume level. With digital the audio is changed to "Digital", transmitted, and the receiver decodes the "digital" back to audio, so you have to be able to receive the signal clearly to hear it at all.

Try a Radio Shack 800 MHz. or similar antenna on your 500 and see if it helps.
